Apple Pie Recipes



Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold water

For the Filling:

  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples (e.g., Granny Smith)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Crust: Combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cold water, mixing until dough forms. Divide into two discs and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare Filling: Toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. Assemble Pie: Roll out one dough disc and fit it into a pie pan. Fill with apple mixture. Roll out the second disc and place over the filling. Trim, seal, and crimp edges. Cut slits in the top for ventilation.
  4. Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden and filling is bubbling. Cool before serving.
