Apple Pie Recipes
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cold water
For the Filling:
- 6 cups peeled and sliced apples (e.g., Granny Smith)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions:
- Prepare Crust: Combine flour and sugar. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cold water, mixing until dough forms. Divide into two discs and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare Filling: Toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Assemble Pie: Roll out one dough disc and fit it into a pie pan. Fill with apple mixture. Roll out the second disc and place over the filling. Trim, seal, and crimp edges. Cut slits in the top for ventilation.
- Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden and filling is bubbling. Cool before serving.
